My boyfriend and I have just driven down to Devon and have never been in this area. Usually Im not a huge fan of Indian, but it was 10:30pm and options were slimming. We walked in here and were welcomed by smiles, the place was empty so we chose our seats and experienced a very good service and some of the best Indian food we have eaten. We had the butter chicken and prawn masala. Just fantastic. Seriously though, the waiter couldnt have been more perfect with his service. I travel all over the world and go to such a variety of restaurants and experience so much, I was a chef in the past and a food taster for a huge concierge company. I am fussy, it takes a lot to impress me, so very well done guys. We will be back!!! Thank you.
Fantastic meal, huge variety of starters, curries and breads. Bring your own drink which is a great idea. Under new management, highly recommended.

we visited Ganges Tavistock tonight. I was anxious that under new management standards would have slipped but luckily, no. Samw chef same excellent food. At ghw moment they are unlicensed so its take your own bottle, no corkage. All good
We have used the Ganges when previously on holiday in dartmoor and remember how good the food was. Returned this week and the food was every bit as good. Excellent curries accompaniments and service. However what lets the Ganges down and the reason we won't return again is the truly disgusting state of the place. For example the carpet and walls up to the toilets are gross. I think if these are the areas the public gets to see what on earth is it like in the kitchens! I noticed on the way out it has a four star hygiene rating which nowadays isn't good enough. A real shame as it was truly one of the best curries we had eaten. Come on Ganges pull your finger out.
